Catholic Deanery of Eastbourne and St Leonards

A Summer Rich in Faith

As summer begins, many across our deanery are getting ready for holidays—some heading to beaches, others to visit family, explore new places, or even go on honeymoon or cruise. In this Holy Year of Jubilee, why not make your trip a little pilgrimage too?

Whether you're walking through a Holy Door (nearby or in Rome), joining the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, or simply visiting a new church while abroad, your faith can travel with you.

Send Us a Postcard!

This summer, we invite everyone—especially our young people—to send a postcard home to your parish (addresses are all in the directory page 12). Choose one with a church or shrine on it if you can, and tell us about your faith experience away:

Postcards will be displayed in our churches this September — a colourful celebration of our travelling, faith-filled parish family.

Spot Pope Leo XIV on a Stamp!

If you're visiting Rome this summer, look out for the new Vatican stamps of Pope Leo XIV — a great souvenir and a special touch for your postcard home.

No Matter Where You Go — God Goes With You

From backpacking to cruising, from retreats to reunions, the beauty of being Catholic is that there’s always a church, and always a welcome. Let's make every journey one of faith, joy, and grace.
